DNS-Management add support for hostname-based NS-Entries + Skript to Auto-Update NS-Xfer
It would be handy for some users to add hostname-based NS-Entries to the DNS-Panel in ispConfig.
ispConfig should resolv the IP-Adresses used for the NS-Entries in regular updates to be able to provide the actual IP-Address.
For Users (like me) using the DNS-Panel with MyDNS as "Master-DNS" to provide DNS-Data for Slave-Hosts, it would be a great feature to auto-update the IP-List for the DNS xfer, update and notify column of the DNS-Entry.
I developed a tiny Shell-Skript providing this feature "externally". Currently the skript provides the ability to enter the NS-Hostnames to check against the DNS-Database of ispConfig. The skript will run daily by cron.
The Skript resolvs all IP's either using dig (against ONE hostname as master-template) OR using the list of NS-Entries (Hostname) resolved by the shell-command "host" providing the IPv4 and IPv6 Adresses.
Those result will then be compared against the current xfer-list and run a global MySQL-Update on ispConfig-DNS as neccesary. E-Mail notify (always or on update) is included!
The skript is fully configurable! I would like to provide this skript to the ispConfig Community if my Author/Copyright will be respected.
