Update script from 3.0.9r1 to 3.1.0 breaks Amavisd
Hello there,
When you upgrade using the update.php script from 3.0.9 to 3.10 - it causes Amavis to get very upset - the update script does not insert the correct hostname into the variable $myhostname in /etc/amavisd.conf - which is something that amavisd requires. As such, this will break the service and stops amavisd and the smtp daemon from working.
Error shows itself up when starting the message:
Starting amavisd: The value of variable $myhostname is "", but should have been a fully qualified domain name; perhaps uname(3) did not provide such. You must explicitly assign a FQDN of this host to variable $myhostname in amavisd.conf, or fix what uname(3) provides as a host's network name! [FAILED]
By editing /etc/amavisd.conf - and finding $myhostname - and putting in your FQDN - it fixes the problem. Run the update script - it breaks it.
