DNS API call to bump serial

Would it be possible to add a function to bump the SOA serial number? As far as I can tell it is not there yet, but it would be nice if I don't have the request it and then bump it manually.

Or maybe an option to the dns_zone_update or the different calls like dns_txt_add, to automatically bump the serial.

(use case: users can mark mail as spam in a webmail environment, I can then push the offending ip to the dns remote block list via the api).
