Missing SSL-Certificate definitions for iPhone
Hi,
I've installed some time ago SSL certificates from Start SSL on my root server (with Debian 5 - 64-bit). In the current Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera, the certificates functioned smoothly. Now I have experienced that the iPhone needs manual confirmation for the certificate (for each page that is displayed via SSL), if the SSL certificate is installed only on the ISPC admin panel.
The following lines were missing in the definitions of the SSL vhost-file regarding to the Domain:
SSLCertificateChainFile / usr/local/apache/conf/sub.class1.server.ca.pem SSLCACertificateFile / usr / local / apache / conf / ca.pem
After I downloaded the PEM files to appropriate directory, added two lines to the vhost file and restarted Apache, the certificate was definitely working in iPhone. Since this approach is similar by many SSL certificate providers, the pure SSL approach in ISPC admin panel unfortunately flawed.
I've started a thread to this topic at the german part of the ISPC forum: http://www.howtoforge.de/forum/showthread.php?p=14558#post14558
Best regards, jepster
