Default DNS Wizard template don't work out the box with common delegation workflow
Hi,
To reproduce the bug you must:
1-Delegate a zone (subdomain.domain.com) to the ISPConfig server. One common way to delegate a zone is creating the following three records in the registrars: -NS subdomain.domain.com. ns1.subdomain.domain.com,ns1.subdomain.domain.com -A ns1.subdomain.domain.com. IP_ADDRESS_OF_THE_ISP_SERVER (this is a so called glue records) -A ns2.subdomain.domain.com. IP_ADDRESS_OF_THE_ISP_SERVER (this is a so called glue records)
2-Add the zone to the ISPConfig using the DNS Zone Wizard and enter as NS 1 and 2 the values ns1.subdomain.domain.com and ns2.subdomain.domain.com.
3-A pri.subdomain.domain.err file is created and the delegation not work.
The problem could be solved adding the following two records to the recently created zone: -A ns1 IP_ADDRESS_OF_THE_ISP_SERVER -A ns2 IP_ADDRESS_OF_THE_ISP_SERVER
So, I think that we could modify the Default DNS Wizard template and avoid others users waste time trying to debug this problem as I did.
I consider this a bug cos this is a very common workflow and is not right that the default template not support it.
I hope this little advise help to improve this wonderful.
Thanks Frank
