Web traffic soft and hard limit
I'm writing to suggest a new feature that could greatly benefit users of ISPConfig, particularly those managing websites with varying traffic patterns. Currently, when websites reach their traffic limits, they are immediately suspended, which can be disruptive for both site owners and visitors.
My proposal is to implement a system of soft and hard traffic limits within ISPConfig. Here's how it could work:
-
Soft Traffic Limit: Upon reaching this threshold, instead of immediately suspending the website, ISPConfig would trigger a warning notification to the site owner or administrator. This notification could be sent via email or displayed within the ISPConfig interface. The purpose of this warning is to alert the user that their website is approaching its traffic limit and prompt them to take action to prevent suspension.
-
Hard Traffic Limit: This would be the threshold at which the website is automatically suspended, as is the current practice. Once the traffic surpasses this limit, the website would be temporarily suspended until the user takes action to upgrade their hosting plan, optimize their website to handle higher traffic, or implement other solutions to mitigate the issue.
